Two places of Ua Uka ISland have been studied:
- Station 1 : Motu Teuanua at the East
- Station 2 : Motu Papa at theWest

The coral community observed in Ua Uka is geographically located in the North of French Polynesia in fresh and turbulent waters. It thus has particularities: there is no reef and the genus richness is low . Despite this, coral cover was pretty high in 1995 (29%). The Millepora genus, which is not a scleractiniaire, is the most prevailing genus.
